Comments: The phone lines are back up.
They were down since last week from the heavy rain and snow storms in Arizona.
If you posted here about reservations, please call the office when you can - they probably won't be calling you from this board. THANKS for your patience.
FYI: It's a logistical nightmare to repair anything in Supai, and when a line physically breaks that goes from the top to the bottom of the canyon it's not a matter of simply sending a couple of guys out in a truck. You see, it's a very remote area. There are only primitive roads leading to the phone lines and towers that provide service to Supai. And with the heavy rains and snows it is difficult to reach the area even to find out what went wrong and where.

Admin reply: The phone lines have been down since last weeks heavy storms. Someone is in Supai at this time repairing them and hopefully they will be up today.
Please be patient as this is a remote area and repairs can and do take extra long.

Comments: We've been to the canyon on 5 different years over the last 10 and I've always been the designated "reserve-our-spottest" for our group.... so take the day off when reservation day opens to do just that. I am relieved to find that others out there had the same issue and it wasn't just me. That said... I now have 24 people from 4 different states that I am in need of a spot for.... for September 15-18 (hike in on the 15th and hike out on the 18th.) I'll keep trying throughout the week, but hope that even though you only take reservations by phone, that you will at least consider the dates for those of us who did try to get through these last 2 days! THANKS! and Just in case you do decide you can call any of us back my number is 623-640-8516...

Comments: I just spoke with Air West Helicopters (they provide air service from Hilltop to the Village) they advised me that the phone lines are down. No estimate as when they would be back in service. Bill

Comments: I thought the hardest part would be getting our group available at the same time. Finally that worked. Now, I'm also unable to get through - two days now. My new concern is that if I ever do get through, will the dates that we have agreed upon be available. I've called the different numbers not only during the normal hours but before and after. Help! Two of us went in 2003 and have never stopped talking about the beauty of this place.
