Comments: I have been going to this wonderful place for the las twenty years, every 4th. of July. The hike is worth the beauty of the waterfalls. I've seen this place change year after year, never for the worse; different but equally beautiful.

Comments: we are coming to phoenix next wed. was wondering how far from phoenix it was and how long of a hike?
Admin reply: (assuming you have reservation(s))
It's 5 - 5.5 hrs from Phoenix.
The hike is about 10 miles in total. LOTS of water needed - it's HOT, but that's what makes the water so much better!

Comments: I was wondering, I see people talk about their hike down to the falls but I have also seen that there is a helicopter there to transport you down. Do you have to take the helicopter to get there and hike or can you do one or the other? Needless to say I haven't been there YET! I am a travel nurse who plans on getting a job there in Arizona soon and was wondering if someone could fill me in. Thanks a bunch!!
Admin reply: You can either hike or helicopter if you are there on the days it operates (Summer: SUN,MON,THU,FRI.) You can even make arrangements ahead for horses to meet you (around noon) at Hilltop so you can ride down. In all cases though, you need reservations to either camp or stay at the lodge (1.5 miles from falls).

Comments: Just returned from our four-day visit to the Havasupai area. If you're planning a trip here, be ready. The hike in and out is really a * * *-kicker. Hot, difficult, beautiful, and great to conquer. We had the best campsite in the whole area - a picnic table was planted right in the river and our site was all sand. Don't just camp in the closest site you find - continue on down closer to Moony falls and you'll get to the more remote, beautiful, and quiet sites. I thought the composting toilets were fabulous. What a geat idea! Some energetic person could make a million bucks supplying ice up and down the river- I'd have paid top dollar for a bag. Glad we survived.

Comments: Relocated to AZ in 1995 from Kansas, worked at the Canyon for several years, then 2004 relocated in town by the name of Yuma, AZ. I wasnt really planning to make AZ my home. I was headed for NV and ended up staying in AZ,LOL. I been in AZ for over 16 years know. Ive seen the whole state, the good, bad and ugly, but still theres somthing like a moth to the light in the dark, that Arizona attracts me.

Comments: I just returned from my hike to Havasupai Falls. The hike in was wonderful & the campground was gorgeous, very clean & extremely inviting, unlike the Supai village we had the unfortunate displeasure of walking through. People were RUDE & unfriendly, most of which were obese; quite the opposite of the animals that resided there. Homeless dogs running around scrounging for food & water-which was nowhere in site for the horses, cows, cats & dogs. Clothing & trash spread about the land & in the horses "areas". Although I'm trying to focus on the immense fun I had hiking around the falls & the awe I was in the entire time as I was taking pictures of the scenery, I'm trying not to let that be cancelled out by the experience I had in the village. Good customer service=returning visitors.
